Transfer Portal Success a key for Penn State Football
James Franklin and this Penn State Football team had a big offseason in the transfer portal, and to this point, their transfer market additions have proven to be very impactful.
Starting offensively with Harvard transfer Eric Wilson, who has been playing better and better each week. His run blocking is improving, and that was shown on his key block on Keyvone Lee’s long run in the first quarter.
Running back and transfer from Baylor, John Lovett, looks to be emerging as the Nittany Lions’ number two back. He hasn’t put up big numbers yet through the three games that he has played in, but he is showing some good things both running the ball, and catching the ball out of the backfield. He had 54 total yards on 12 touches against Indiana, averaging out to 4.5 yards per touch.
Moving over to the defensive side of the ball, Arnold Ebiketie has not only been the most impactful transfer on this team, but he is also one of the most impactful transfers in the country. The transfer from Temple notched his third sack of the season against Indiana.
It is safe to say that without their transfer additions, this team would probably not be 5-0 right now.
