No. 4 Penn State Football shuts out Indiana Hoosiers, biggest test looms ahead
By Nick Kreiser
Penn State Football advanced to 5-0 (2-0) with a 24-0 win over Indiana in front of a Striped Out crowd on Saturday night.
The Nittany Lions defense was the story of the night, as Penn State Football pitched their first shutout since shutting out Maryland in September of 2019.
Ellis Brooks paced the defense with eight total tackles. Arnold Ebiketie added had a sack and another blocked field goal, and Ji’Ayir Brown hauled in his team leading third interception of the season.
Offensively, Sean Clifford took a step backwards from his play in previous weeks, completing just over 50% of his passes, and also throwing an interception. He did, however, throw three more touchdowns against Indiana.
Two of Clifford’s three touchdown passes went to star wideout, Jahan Dotson, who is certainly living up to the hype of being quite possibly the best wide receiver in the country.
Dotson also had the opportunity to showcase his arm talent again tonight, finding fellow wide receiver Parker Washington for a 21 yard completion following a reverse.
This Penn State Football team finally had some success running the football Saturday, finishing with 209 yards as a team. Keyvon Lee led the backfield with eight carries for 74 yards, an impressive average of 9.3 yards per carry.
The Nittany Lions will enjoy this one for tonight, though there is still plenty of room for growth. That growth needs to happen ASAP, as they travel to Iowa City next week to take on a top 5 Hawkeyes team who will have an extra day of rest, since they played on Friday night this week.
