Mike Gesicki has huge day for Miami Dolphins, catches first touchdown of 2021

Former Penn State Football tight end Mike Gesicki caught his first touchdown pass of the season, Sunday for the Miami Dolphins, in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts 

Mike Gesicki continues to be one of the Miami Dolphins’ most dominant weapons in the passing game.

Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, Gesicki caught five passes for 57 yards and a touchdown, while averaging 11.4 yards per reception in the Dolphins’ 27-17 home loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Gesicki’s touchdown game in a huge moment, as the Dolphins went for it on 4th down and goal, to pull within 20-10 with just under 11:00 remaining.

The Dolphins came up short, but Sunday was one of Gesicki’s strongest performances of the season.

Through the first four weeks, Gesicki has caught 18 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown, and he has yet to be charged with a drop.

With Tua Tagovailoa sidelined, Gesicki now must figure out how to continue building chemistry with backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett, if he is going to be even more productive in coming weeks.

The Dolphins chose Gesicki in the second-round of the 2018 NFL Draft, out of Penn State, and to date, he has caught 144 passes for 1,659 yards and 12 touchdowns, through the first four seasons of his NFL career.
