Maryland improved to 4-0 this past weekend with a 37-16 win over Kent State.

There’s an argument to be made that the score was a bit close, but Kent State lost to Iowa 30-7 and to Texas A&M 41-10, they’ve held in there this year.

Taulia Tagovailoa had another monster performance, completing 75.6% of his passes for 384 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Dontay Demus Jr. had another big game as well, catching four passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.

While the offense continues to be explosive, there are some things the Terps do need to clean up. They were penalized nine times for 120 yards on Saturday, against Big Ten teams, you won’t get away with that.

The defense also allowed 458 yards of offense to Kent State, but did hold them to just 1/5 on fourth downs, which helped keep Kent State off the score board.

Maryland will host Iowa this Friday night, which should be a great game considering Iowa’s strength is the defense and Maryland’s is the offense. This will be the game that tells us if the Terps are for real this year.
