Penn State Football moved up to no. 4 in the latest AP poll on Sunday after taking care of Villanova 38-17 on Saturday, and their name is again popping up in Playoff predictions

For the second straight week The Athletic  has Penn State Football headed South Beach for the Orange Bowl and the College Football Playoff.

This week, the matchup pits no. 2 Georgia against No. 3 Penn State Football in a game the Nittany Lions would undoubtedly be a heavy underdog, but one fans of the Blue and White would most likely be thrilled just to be in.

Other playoff projections have Penn State Football headed to New Year’s Six bowl games like the Rose Bowl or Peach Bowl, which all would be exciting and lead to likely big time matchups, but nothing would top breaking into the final four for the first time.

The Nittany Lions have a long way to go before they head south for any type of bowl game, but the path to a potential Playoff bid gets clearer, and less fat fetched with every passing week.

All roads to the College Football Playoff lead through Columbus, and their massive matchup set for Oct 30th. The Buckeyes look beatable this season, and look like a defense that Sean Clifford and company could potentially expose.

Before and after that trip to Ohio though, big games with Indiana, Iowa and Michigan loom, along with a sneaky trip to East Lansing in the season finale.

Our Bowl Projection

My offseason projection was a trip to the Rose Bowl, with Penn State Football going 10-2, and heading to represent the Big Ten in Pasadena Ohio State was headed once again to the College Football Playoffs.

I will stick with the Rose Bowl for now, not quite going to dive into how or why the road leads to Pasadena, but nothing to this point says otherwise to change this preseason prediction.

The next two weeks however could impact this both positively and negatively, as wins over Indiana and Iowa at Kinnick could propel me into a playoff prediction.
