Fairly Confident No. 1

149
Terrell Barraclough
Record: 20-6
Preseason Rank: N/A

Now we’re onto the section where things get a little murkier for who’s slotted in the starting lineup.

Last season the Nittany Lions trotted out four different grapplers at 149 in their six total regular season dual meets (Jarod Verkleeren, Terrell Barraclough, Luke Gardner, and Beau Bartlett). Bartlett then ended up getting the nod for the Nittany Lions in the 2021 B1G Championship.

While he wrestled several tough matches in the B1G Championships, Bartlett was unable to secure a spot in the NCAA Championships. And heading into this season the word on the street is Terrell Barraclough is going to hold down the 149 spot.

Which means Bartlett might redshirt this season and then drop down a class to take over at 141 for the departing Nick Lee in the 2022-2023 season.

Or I could be completely wrong and none of this happens. Which is certainly possible. But I’m pretty confident Barraclough is the guy this year.
