Taking a look at Penn State Wrestling’s projected starting lineup going into the 2021-2022 season

Now that Penn State Wrestling fans know the Nittany Lions schedule for the 2021-2022 season, it’s time for the in-house experts* at Victory Bell Rings to project who’s going to be hitting the mat when the season kicks off in the Journeyman Duals.

I expect to see several major changes in this year’s lineup so I’m going to break down this article into three sections:
-Locked and Loaded
-Fairly Confident
-Anyone’s Guess

So with that, here’s my projected 2021-2022 lineup for Penn State Wrestling:

Locked and Loaded No. 1

133
Roman Bravo-Young
Record: 59-9
Preseason Rank: 1
2021 NCAA Champion
2021 B1G Champion

The standout Junior grappler earned his first B1G title and his first NCAA title last season so he’s obviously written into the 133 slot with a sharpie.

The reigning NCAA Champion did have a bit of a small scare as he dealt with a bout of MRSA back in late July. Hopefully this didn’t hamper his training too much leading into the upcoming season.

Barring anything crazy, he’s locked and loaded at 133 so there really isn’t more to elaborate on.

Moving on.
