No. 3 – 2021 at Wisconsin

This is easily James Franklin’s biggest road win, and for a variety of reasons.

First, it was his first win as a road underdog. Also, it was an excellent start to the season, following a bad 2020 campaign that brought a lot of question marks surrounding Franklin and the program.

The Nittany Lions’ offense came out slow, but were able to turn it around and play well for most of the second half. Additionally, it may have also been one of the best defensive games the Nittany Lions have played under James Franklin.

Just like the win over Auburn, it was one of the few times that the Nittany Lions have been able to finish off a big win, under James Franklin.
