2-2 (0-1). Previous: 13th. Cornhuskers . 13. team. 810.

Despite losing, there is some reason for optimism with the Cornhuskers performance this past Saturday.

Now, at this point in his tenure, Scott Frost isn’t looking for morale victories, but only giving up 23 points to Oklahoma on the road is something to be proud of. Unfortunately, Nebraska only scored 16 points themselves.

The defense did enough to give Adrian Martinez and the offense a chance to win it, but they were unable to move the ball on their last drive, looking to tie the game. Martinez played fine, completing 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards, a touchdown and an interception, while adding another score on the ground. The problem is, he’s getting no help from his running backs, as they totaled just 61 yards.

A lot of people expected Nebraska to get its doors blown off in this one, and that didn’t happen, so you have to give them credit there. They have a big matchup with Michigan State this week, one that could potentially turn the season around.
