Penn State Football Wide Receiver – KeAndre Lambert-Smith

As expected, Jahan Dotson and Parker Washington have played well so far, but one of the questions surrounding this Penn State Football team prior to the season was…would a reliable third wide receiver emerge?

KeAndre Lambert-Smith has undoubtedly stepped up, and is thriving in that role. Through three games, he has nine catches for 111 yards, which averages to 12.3 yards per catch (the exact same average yards per catch that Jahan Dotson has so far).

What makes this even more impressive, is that Lambert-Smith has been target a lot on screen passes. So, he has done a great job of picking up yards after the catch and making things happen with the ball in his hands.

The sophomore wide receiver also had one of the unsung offensive plays of the day against Wisconsin, hauling in a 52 yard pass from Sean Clifford. On a day when the offense had struggled to connect on many big plays, Lambert-Smith was able to get open downfield and make a nice running catch.

Lambert-Smith has been praised by head coach James Franklin for his maturity and growth, and it has shown up on the field.
