Penn State football: Top-10 moments in ‘White Out’ history

No. 8 Saquon to the house to open up blowout in front of College Gameday

During the 2017 college football season, the Michigan Wolverines made their way to Penn State to take on the Nittany Lions in front of College Gameday.

Penn State Football went into that game as the No. 2 team in the country, but Michigan was no slouch, as they were ranked in the top-20, and had one of the better defenses in the land.

There was a lot of drama leading up to this matchup as well, as the Wolverines had beaten them two years earlier in the White Out game. The Nittany Lions wanted to get out to a fast start against Michigan, putting them away early, and they certainly accomplished that, thanks to star running back Saquon Barkley.

Barkley made his presence known right away, bringing the Penn State crowd to its feet, as he rushed 69-yards for a touchdown on a direct snap on the second play of the game. That set the tone for the entire afternoon, as the Nittany Lions ended up blowing out the Wolverines by the score of 42-13.

For Barkley, it was another signature moment, and game for him, as he racked up 108 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, and more than 50 yards and a score through the air. Of course, Trace McSorley was great in this one, and the defense shut out Michigan in the second half, but Barkley’s 69-yard TD was the moment we all remember.
