A week after dropping 38 on the road at Northwestern, the Spartans offense was at it again, putting up 42 in a 42-14 win over Youngstown State.

Last week, Kenneth Walker III and the run game stole the show, but this week it was quarterback Payton Thorne. Thorne went 15-21 for 280 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Thorne also has a legitimate No.1 receiver in Jayden Reed as well. He has nine catches for 245 yards and two scores on the year.

If Michigan State’s offense continues to play like this, they will be a scary matchup for anyone in the Big Ten this season. The offense is better than expected and the defense is doing their thing under head coach Mel Tucker.

The Spartans have a big game this week, heading down to Florida to face Miami. A win would certainly warrant them being ranked, and maybe even higher on this list.
