Wisconsin was desperate for a feel-good win after their loss at home to Penn State Football in Week 1, and they got just that.

The Badgers made quick work of Eastern Michigan, beating them 34-7. Running back Chez Mellusi had another big game, with 144 yards and a score. Mellusi was one of four Badgers tailbacks to find paydirt on Saturday as they group combined for 352 yards on the ground.

Graham Mertz didn’t turn the ball over and went 14-17 passing. He had only 141 yards and no touchdowns, but Wisconsin will take a performance like this when then can run the way they did on Saturday. It’s games like last week, when Wisconsin needed Mertz to make plays, that still gives doubt on how successful this team can be.

Wisconsin’s defense did their thing, holding Eastern Michigan to just 92 total yards of offense. An impressive state regardless of the opponent.

This game looked like the Wisconsin we are used to, a dominant run game and a smothering defense. They keep playing like this and that loss to Penn State will be a distant memory.
