Penn State Football beats Ball State if this happens, Cardinals do if that does
By Evan Smith
Penn State Football wins if John Lovett plays
Penn State wins if John Lovett gets a carry.
Huh?
Hear me out. Penn State Football did not run the ball well versus a very strong Wisconsin front seven. Let’s take a look at the LawnBoyz performance last week:
Noah Cain — 8 carries, 48 yards, 1 TD
Sean Clifford — 6 carries, 5 yards
Devyn Ford — 1 carry, 1 yard
Keyvone Lee — 3 carries, -4 yards
That’s 18 carries for 50 yards, and take out Cain’s 4th quarter 34 yard run, that’s 17 carries for 16 yards. YIKES.
And this was supposed to be an improved offensive line? I was told that ‘120 yards was too easy’ last week and I should have said ‘150 yards’ instead …
So, here’s how Penn State Football wins … they take an early lead, and control the line of scrimmage against an opponent that should not be able to hang with the Lions in the trenches.
Therefore, we should expect to see the entire running back corps make an appearance, including the high profile transfer from Baylor, John Lovett.
Lovett did not see the field in Madison but he didn’t transfer from Baylor to ride the bench here at Penn State. I expect him not just to get a carry, but make an impact when he sees the field.
