Penn State Football Reason to Worry – Field Goals and Extra Points

Jordan Stout missed one field goal and one extra point last week at Wisconsin, and whoever is in charge of handling those kicks this week will need to do a better job of it.

Some Penn State Football fans are wondering why Jake Pinegar was not assigned to handle the placekicking.

In recent seasons, it would have been Pinegar attempting those kicks, but it was said that Jordan Stout won the job during training camp. So, if Stout is truly the best option for that at this point, and he continues to have those struggles, it could come back to haunt the Nittany Lions.

Some of the issues may be with the holder, who was Rafael Checa, but either way they need to be corrected moving forward. Not only can missing out on a few points be costly in close games, but a missed field goal or extra point could be a huge momentum swing in a game.
