Week 9: Penn State Football @Maryland

Playing Maryland after a loss to Ohio State, stop me if you’ve heard this before.

The Nittany Lions faced the Terps last season following a loss to Ohio State, and it did not go well.

Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa had the game of his life, throwing three touchdowns and completing almost 70% of his passes against the Nittany Lions. The Terps talented receiver corps gave the Penn State defense fits all day.

Tagovailoa and that receiving corps all return in 2021 and will try to knock off Penn State again. Maryland does not have a great offensive line, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of shape Tagovailoa is in this late in the season.

The Maryland defense is a little weak up front, although they’ve recruited the defensive line well recently. The linebackers are young, but most were blue chip recruits. The secondary, led by safety Nick Cross , will give some trouble.

Penn State may be down after their loss to Ohio State, but Franklin knows he can’t lose two straight to Maryland. Penn State will come to play.
