Week 11: Penn State Football vs. Rutgers

The final home game of the year will take place against the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers has held in there against Penn State the past few years, making games tight into the fourth quarter.

Greg Schiano has put some new life into the Rutgers program and they’ve become a thorn in the side of Penn State’s recruiting efforts in New Jersey. Franklin would like a big win in the field to help ease that.

Outside of wide receiver Bo Melton, there isn’t too much firepower on a Rutgers offense that didn’t put up too many points last year. Noah Vedral looks to be the starter at quarterback, but he’s had problems with turnovers throughout his career.

Rutgers may put up a little more resistance on defense, with linebacker Olakunle Fatukasi leading the way. Christian Izien is also one of the better corners in the conference, picking off four passes last season.

While future battles with Rutgers may be more difficult, Penn State losing senior day to the Scarlet Knights just doesn’t seem likely.
