Reason for Optimism #4 – Mike Yurcich

Last season, a lack of production on the offensive side of the ball was the primary issue for Penn State football. Expect that to change this season under Mike Yurcich, who will bring an innovative and exciting offensive playbook to the Nittany Lions.

Yurcich will have a lot of weapons to utilize in his offense this season. He will have a solid offensive line to build that offense around.

On top of that, Penn State Football has a loaded running back room filled with talented backs. Yurcich will be able to establish a strong running game which will help the time of possession battle, as well as establish themselves up front and open up the field for the passing game.

As for the passing game, Yurcich will have a great group of wide receivers which includes one of the best duos in the country in Jahan Dotson and Parker Washington. He also has two great tight ends (Brenton Strange and Theo Johnson) who will be especially useful in the red zone.

Lastly, Clifford has all of the physical tools to be successful, and Yurcich has what it takes as a play caller to put him in the best possible situations to do just that.

This Penn State Football offense certainly has no shortage of weapons, and Yurcich has the resumé to suggest he will be able to do some special things with those weapons. That is a recipe for this offense to be able to move the ball effectively and score a lot of points.
