Cowboys’ Micah Parsons is absolutely dominating the NFL preseason
Former Penn State Football All-American Micah Parsons is turning in one of the most dominant preseason performances in the NFL, this summer
Micah Parsons is in the midst of one of the NFL’s most dominant preseason performances, seemingly making a seamless transition from Penn State Football to the heart of the Dallas Cowboys’ defense.
Through Dallas’ first two preseason games, Parsons has already produced seven total tackles, recovered a fumble, and been flying to the football all summer.
After the Cowboys’ rushing defense was a sieve for much of the 2020 campaign, finishing 31st against the run, Parsons has made an immediate impact this summer.
According to Pro Football Focus, Parsons is the highest-graded run defender in the league thus far during the preseason, producing an 85.7 run-stopping grade:
Chosen by the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 12 overall pick in this spring’s NFL Draft, Parsons has already emerged as the heart of coordinator Dan Quinn’s defense, while flashing the kind of athleticism and versatility that made him one of the premier defensive players in this year’s draft class.
Still, Parsons believes that he can make an even bigger impact on the Cowboys’ defense.
"“I feel like I wasn’t able to fully go-go yet. I feel like the leash is still on. But we’re going to let if off soon,” Parsons told reporters Saturday night after a 20-14 preseason loss.“We’re just very limited right now, not trying to show too much, the 22-year-old said. “I’m kind of just biting my tongue because I know what we’re really capable of.”"
