Penn State Football: 10 storylines that will define Nittany Lions’ 2021 season

5. Penn State Football’s Wide Receiver Depth
Outside of the obvious top two targets, Jahan Dotson and Parker Washington, the wide receiver group should be an interesting one to watch develop as the season goes along.
KeAndre Lambert-Smith is likely to be the third starter at wide receiver, and in an article by Blue-White Illustrated, it sounds like he is making great strides in the right direction ahead of the new season. With a lot attention to be focused on Dotson and Washington, it will be interesting to see if Lambert-Smith is able to flourish.
Daniel George and Cam Sullivan-Brown are two guys that have each been in the program a long time. Keep an eye on those two names in the rotation as well, and see if either of them will make a splash late in their career.
Redshirt freshman Malick Meiga is another player who has a lot of upside. Standing at six foot four inches, Meiga has great size to turn into a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. Surely Meiga will see some action this season, will he be able to turn the heads of Penn State Football fans?
Finally at wide receiver, I am interested to see how much of a chance Liam Clifford gets to catch passes from his brother. Surely there is some chemistry between the two, so that should not be an issue. Liam is a tremendous athlete, and James Franklin spoke very highly of him. Franklin mentioned that Liam is further along than most freshman are at this stage because he has had his brother to help prepare him for the life of a college athlete, on and off the field.
The wide receiver position is certainly a strength of this Penn State Football team and should be a lot of fun to watch throughout the course of the season.
