Predicting 2021 Big Ten season: How many wins for Penn State Football?
By Nick Kreiser
Sparty finished with a 2-5 record in their first season with Mel Tucker at the helm, and with a big jump forward then can find themselves bowl eligible come December. However, Michigan State may not quite be ready to make that kind of a jump.
Michigan State opens their season in Evanston taking on Northwestern, who is always sneaky good and ready to play under Pat Fitzgerald. Again in week three, the Spartans have to travel south to take on one of the top teams in the country, the Miami Hurricanes. There are a few games on their schedule that could go either way, including Nebraska and Purdue.
Spartans quarterback Payton Thorne showed a lot of upside in their last game of the season last year against Penn State. Coach Tucker will hope for that to continue for his young quarterback.
Unfortunately for them, Michigan State just does not have the talent on their roster that many other teams in the Big Ten East. The Spartans will be fortunate to see a .500 record.
