Indiana had a break out season in 2020 finishing with a 6-2 record, lead by quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Penix returns to the field this season after suffering an ACL injury last season.

Penix may be the best returning quarterback in the conference after a second team All-Conference selection at quarterback last season, finishing behind Ohio State’s Justin Fields who has moved on to the NFL. Penix will also have his favorite target back with wide receiver Ty Fryfogle, who is one of the best wide receivers in the conference.

The Hoosiers have a tough test in their first game, with a road trip to Kinnick Stadium to face Iowa. They also face the Cincinnati Bearcats in non-conference play, who might be the best Group of 5 team in the country.

Being that they are in the East Divison, they have to deal with Ohio State. They also have to go on the road to Beaver Stadium and take on an improved Penn State team and their fans who will be hungry to avenge their last second loss to the Hoosiers last October. Both of those games are potential losses for Tom Allen’s squad.

Lastly, Indiana has two tough (but winnable) games on the road against a Maryland team on the rise, and against Michigan.
