4. Landon Tengwall

As the highest rated recruit in Penn State’s 2021 class, there are a lot of expectations for offensive lineman Landon Tengwall.

Penn State Football’s first team offensive line is probably set with Rasheed Walker and Caedan Wallace at tackle, Mike Miranda at center and Juice Scruggs and either Eric Wilson or Des Holmes at guard. Like the other guys on this list, Tengwall will look for a spot on the second team.

At 6-foot-6 and 326 pounds, Tengwall is ready for college ball. He is also versatile, capable of playing all five spots on the line, thanks to his well-built frame and athleticism. That, along with him enrolling early, will give him an opportunity for playing time this year.

While this may be the best offensive line that Franklin has had at Penn State, having quality reserves on the offensive line is equally as important as having a good starting group.

Offensive linemen seem to get banged up more than any other position. They battle the other team’s biggest players and the trenches are full of guys falling over each other and landing awkwardly.

Because of that, having a young, talented reserve like Tengwall is very beneficial for offensive line coach Phil Trautwein. The likes of Holmes and Anthony Whigan may be ahead of Tengwall, but he will be a key member of Penn State’s second team to start the season.
