1. Penn State’s Week 1 Matchup

Most seasons, Penn State is at home week one against a Group of 5 or FCS team, and it gives them a chance to iron out some of the wrinkles, but not this year.

This season, the Nittany Lions have to travel to Madison, Wisconsin, and take on a great Wisconsin Badger team in one of the best stadium environments in the country, Camp Randall Stadium.

The Wisconsin fans are sure to be fired up after not being able to watch their Badgers in person last season. So, how will Penn State Football respond in this environment?

Along with the environment, their performance week one (good or bad) could set the tone for the rest of the season.

Similar to last season, a heartbreaking loss week one derailed their season and deflated their confidence. This first game could answer some of the other questions from this list, especially with Clifford. If he comes out and throws a couple interceptions and the Nittany Lions lose, that could totally deflate him and his performance could go on a downward spiral in the following weeks.

However, if he has a great game, completes a lot of passes, and has a few touchdowns in a win, that could be his and the team’s springboard for the entire season. So, what we see out of our beloved Nittany Lions week one should tell us a lot and answer a lot of questions about what we can expect the rest of the season.
