Penn State Basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry danced around questions about his team’s vaccination rate Monday

Penn State Basketball hosted the media and John Harrar, Myles Dread and Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry took some questions.  While there was some nice answers from both Dread and Delco’s finest, there’s really only one answer that people are talking about.

Shrewsberry was asked about the vaccination rate and his answer surprised pretty much everyone in attendance.  He basically shrugged off the question and didn’t answer; a) whether he was vaccinated or b) what the team vaccination rate is.

Huh?

There are many easier ways to get out of answering the question exactly without ignoring the quesiton.  Simply saying something like; ‘We are constantly working together as a team to learn about what options we have and the measures available to us to keep the PSU Basketball family safe, healthy and ensure a successful season’ would have been a significantly better answer.

Coach Shrewsberry then sent the following tweet a few hours later:

Shrewsberry  states that he is in fact fully vaccinated and is encouraging those interested to get vaccinated.  His statement actually read quite similar to the ficitonal response I gave above.

Of course, Shrewsberry didn’t need to say whether or not he was vaccinated, but it’s great that he took the opportunity to elaborate on the press conference with the tweet reiterating his main focus to keep the team healthy and safe.

Get vaccinated and stay safe so we can pack the BJC in just a few months! #weare
