Prediction

Unfortunately my prediction section still has a plethora of questions and very few answers.

Is David Taylor Team USA’s biggest favorite to win a gold medal? Yes. Absolutely.

But here is another major factor in the Olympic wrestling equation. As of the writing of this the 86kg freestyle brackets have not been released. And since Taylor has not wrestled in any of the major international tournaments in the past two years he may end up with a difficult draw from the word “go”.

It’s very possible Taylor could go up against Yazdani in his opening match. If this is the case, will Taylor have any rust which needs to be knocked off?

Or will David be firing on all cylinders and pick up right where he left off?

Or will any of it matter if Yazdani is an unbeatable wrestling machine?

Screw all of these questions!

David Taylor is a monster on the mat. He’s proven time and time again he can beat anyone toeing the line opposite of him. Whether in high school, college, or on the world stage.

And in this year’s Olympic games, he will further add to his wrestling lore by winning his first ever Olympic gold medal.

Batten down the hatches because the battles at 86kg are going to be intense. But it’s going to be awesome to watch it!
