As the Olympics get underway in Tokyo, the Penn State Nittany Lions are well represented

The Penn State Nittany Lions lead the entire Big Ten Conference in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games participants.

Headliners include David Taylor (Wrestling) and Olympic silver medalist Joe Kovacs (Track and Field).  As the Opening Ceremonies officially kick-off the games (postponed from last year due to COVID-19), some Penn Staters will begin their Olympic journey while others have already started playing.

Here is a guide for how to watch former Penn State Nittany Lions compete for the Gold Medal during the Olympic Games:

Matt Anderson and Max Holt (Volleyball – Court)

Anderson and Holt both led Penn State Men’s Volleyball to their only National Championship.

Anderson then left school a year early to pursue a career professionally.  Both Anderson and Holt were on the bronze medal winning USA team in the 2016 games in Rio.  The team also includes former Nittany Lion Aaron Russell as an alternate.

How to follow:  The USA team is in ‘pool B’; their first game is at 8:45 am (ET) on Saturday vs France.  Also in their pool are Russia (Sunday 7/25 at 10:05 pm), Tunusia (Tuesday 7/27 at 10:05 pm), world number one Brazil (Thursday 7/29 at 10:05 pm) and Argentina (Sunday 8/1 at 8:45 am)
