Penn State Football’s Whiteout is traditionally reserved for the biggest game of the season, but this year, Michigan won’t face Whiteout conditions at Beaver Stadium …

Penn State Football announced its home game themes for every game this fall, and for the first time since 2011, the annual stadium Whiteout will not occur versus Ohio State or Michigan.

It won’t even be an B1G Conference foe that squares off against the Nittany Lions in Whiteout conditions.

Since 2012, the Whiteout has been played in front of either the Buckeyes or Wolverines, but Penn State Football announced the September 18th game vs SEC opponent Auburn will be the entire stadium whiteout game.

Like in 2011 when Penn State hosted another famed SEC school (Alabama), the athletic department will likely want to put their best foot forward on national television as ABC already announced the 7:30 pm kickoff and telecast.

When will Penn State Football’s other theme games take place?

The somewhat maligned “Stripe Out” is back for the October 2nd (revenge) game vs Indiana.

Michigan (November 13th) will be the student whiteout game and the traditional THON game will be on September 25th vs Villanova.

Other Penn State staples include the Homecoming game (October 23rd vs Illinois), this year paired with the “Generations of Greatness” game. Senior Day is set for the home finale, (November 20th vs Rutgers), and is paired with Military Appreciation.

New this year, likely due to having zero attendance last year thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is the “107k Family Reunion” theme, aptly scheduled for the home opener vs Ball State on September 11th (perhaps this should have been paired with Military Appreciation day?).

The entire schedule can be found below:
