By and large, Oklahoma State had a successful 2021 season on the mat as they went a perfect 10-0 in the regular season, crowned 6 All-Americans, and took home an individual title at 197.
The only misstep on the season was when Mr. “Do Everything” Daton Fix was upset in the finals by Penn State Wrestling’s Roman Bravo-Young.
The Cowboys will once again return a strong lineup, however they will potentially have a couple of holes to fill as Boo Lewallen (149) has decided to not return for his extra year of eligibility and Dakota Geer (184) has not made his decision yet.
Okie State may have to also make a decision on the future of A.J. Ferrari. More specifically, should he continue to deadlift heavy weights, move up to heavyweight, and then continue to tell the public how much he deadlifts? Only the Cowboys staff knows.
Hey, I only ask the difficult questions.
My gut tells me Ferrari will stay at 197 this season and then maybe bump up the following season to make room for Kyle Haas at 197. Either way, I don’t see a repeat for Ferrari at 197 which is why I have the Cowboys finishing 4th.
