Penn State football commit Keon Wylie (LB)

The projection of who the linebackers in Penn State’s 2022 class would be was murky for some time, but there is now some clarity there.

Keon Wylie, a 3-star linebacker from Philadelphia, picked the Nittany Lions over Pitt and Kentucky on Saturday.

Wylie is a close friend of outspoken Penn State commit Ken Talley and the two will now be teammates in college. The 6’2, 210-pound Wylie projects best as an outside linebacker, one that could eventually grow into a defensive end if needed.

During his junior season at Imhotep Institute, Wylie recorded 12 sacks and seven tackles for loss.

There’s a lot to like about Wylie’s game, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see his ranking rise during his senior year.

Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Brent Pry now has one linebacker to work with, but he’ll need to close on at least one more to consider the haul a success.
