Penn State Football quarterback Sean Clifford flashed all kinds of arm-strength and pocket presence in recent training video

In a video posted by Vernard Abrams, Penn State Football quarterback Sean Clifford looked clean and strong in the pocket during summer drills.

Clifford is the presumptive starter for the Nittany Lions, but coming off a disappointing campaign last year in the COVID-19 shortened season.

He finished 152-251 (60.6%) with 1,883 yards and 16 touchdowns to go along with a disappointing 9 interceptions (and that goes without speaking about his fumbling issues.  Clifford was benched for back-up Will Levis (who has since transferred to Kentucky.)

Clifford came into the 2020 season with high expectations after finishing his sophomore year with 2,654 yards and a far better 23-7 touchdown to interception ratio and was even considered by some a dark horse Heisman candidate.

The hope is for a bounce back 2021 campaign in what will be his senior year.

If Clifford makes strides, and his arm-strength and pocket awareness from the below video translates to the season, Penn State Football could level-up in 2021.

In the video, Clifford shows nice arm strength and a quick release.

Of course, Clifford isn’t in pads and there’s no defense so all videos must be taken with a grain of salt.  We’ll probably start seeing videos of Ben Simmons making jump shots soon too … that doesn’t mean it will translate in-game.

However, for Penn State to have the type of year they want and have come to expect, a lot will rest of Sean Clifford’s right arm and the designs of new offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.
