Week 2 – Ball State

The home opener will be a celebration of having fans back in Beaver Stadium, and although early betting lines have Penn State as a three touchdown favorite in this one, Ball State is a solid team coming off a MAC Championship last year.

The Cardinals bring back 22 starters and this game defines a trap situation for Franklin’s squad. Coming off a big road game with the Badgers, and possibly looking ahead to the prime time showdown with Auburn the week following.

Prediction: 3:30pm on ESPN

Week 4 – Villanova

This is by far the most lopsided matchup on Penn State Football’s schedule as Villanova is an FCS team, all be it a very solid one, but an opponent that provides almost no threat of even competing in this game.

This is a big recruiting, exposure and money making game for ‘Nova, but other than that, it does not make much sense why the Nittany Lions would even schedule this game. Although, it does come at a good time after a brutal first three opponents.
