Conclusion

Penn State Football would be wise to bring him a quarterback with game experience to bolster that room, but Finley doesn’t seem like the right fit.

He underwhelmed in his chance last season and then was on the outside looking in this spring in that quarterback battle. Is that really where the Nittany Lions are, jumping at the chance to bring in LSU’s outcast?

Ideally the quarterback Franklin brings in is a guy w experience who is okay being a backup and a mentor. Finely is young and raw in his own right, and at this point in the offseason does not really have a chance to win the starting gig.

With what’s already in that room, and Allar and Pribula set to arrive in 2022, Finely will only complicate the quarterback picture further.

Clifford is QB1 and Roberson should be given a chance to prove he can be a backup or a starter, but Finley doesn’t look to be an upgrade of what the Nittany Lions already have.
