Why Penn State Football should stay away

Despite the fact he’s 0-1 passing in his college career, Ta’Quan Roberson was a big recruit and has the tools to perfectly fit this Mike Yurcich offense.

Many thought he would push for the starting job this offseason, he should be given a chance to at least play the backup role and potentially start of things to south for Clifford like they did early last season.

Finely did very little last season to prove he can be a reliable starter, throwing as many interceptions as he did touchdowns and is not mobile whatsoever, rushing for 34 yards last season.

We don’t know all the details so it is tough to speculate, but that was seemingly a three man race in Baton Rouge and it seems he finished last, evidenced by him entering the portal. Brennan and Johnson are not world beaters either, so him being the odd man out is not an encouraging sign about his abilities.

Beyond what he brings to the table, what is the fall out of bringing him aboard? Does Roberson transfer? Also what are the expectations? This is not the NFL where you can sign Finley for a year to be a backup. Players have a short window of eligibility, they want to play. Is he going to accept a backup role?

There might be more questions than answers with the former Tiger, and it might make sense for them to stick with what they have in that room right now.
