Penn State Football went back to a familiar pipeline, adding new recruit, safety Tyrece Mills on Wednesday

Penn State Football received a surprise commitment on Wednesday morning when safety Tyrece Mills announced his decision on Twitter.

Mills was a little known prospect to many before his commitment. He wasn’t seen as a target before and he didn’t show much interest in Penn State from a social media standpoint, prior to his commitment.

With that said, let’s try to get to know the newest Nittany Lion, added in a strong Penn State Football recruiting cycle:

Recruitment

Mills is 6-feet tall and weighs 205 pounds, according to his 247 Sports profile.

He attends Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, PA, a school Penn State Football is very familiar with. He is originally from Philadelphia and was in the 2020 recruiting cycle. His only offer back in 2020 was from Akon.

The Nittany Lions are listed as his only offer and he is currently unranked in the JUCO rankings.

This was not a long recruitment, as he received the Penn State offer on March 30. Mills is the first safety commit for new safeties coach Anthony Poindexter.
