1. NaVorro Bowman – 3rd round, San Francisco 49ers

Bowman carried on the legacy of ‘Linebacker U’ in the NFL as he starred at middle linebacker in a vaunted San Francisco defense.

As a third round selection, 91st overall, Bowman over achieved in a big way becoming a three time pro bowler and four time First-team All-Pro selection. In his eight seasons in the NFL Bowman tallied 798 tackles, 14 sacks and five interceptions and even appeared in a Super Bowl with the Niners.

He somewhat ended his his career a bit short as some felt he still had some left in the tank, but in his time he was known as one of the most physical and violent run stoppers in the game playing alongside Patrick Willis, forming what was considered the best linebacker tandem in football for a period of time.

Bowman was a stud as a Nittany Lion as well, as he was a first team All-Big Ten selection in 2008, the year the program won the Big Ten championship and appeared in the Rose Bowl.
