Penn State Football must add QB from transfer portal: 3 best options
2. Austin Kendall – West Virginia
Kendall is an intriguing prospect potentially for the Nittany Lions, as he is another guy who has played a good amount of college football and had some success.
As a full-time starter at West Virginia in 2019, Kendall threw for almost 2,000 yards and twelve touchdowns, but did throw 10 interceptions as well. He only played in two games last season but did lead the Mountaineers to a bowl victory over Army.
The six-foot-two and 221 pound redshirt junior has started 17 games in his career and never has truly reached the potential some once thought he had as a former four star recruit who, like Jones, was committed to Oklahoma.
Like most quarterbacks Kendall presumably wants to find a home as a starter, and on his best days he could push Clifford and at worst provide competition in that room so Clifford is not complacent as the guy.
