Penn State Football held an informal Blue and White Game on Saturday.

The scrimmage was open to mostly Penn State freshmen, I was lucky to be one of the few non-freshmen at the game.

While it is hard to judge if performances from a practice in April will translate to the real deal in September, here are the top five takeaways from Saturday’s scrimmage.

1. Kalen King Has A lot of Talent

Kalen King, a 4-star cornerback from the 2020 class, made quite the first impression on Saturday.

King, who should technically still be in high school, stole the show with two interceptions, including a pick-six of Ta’Quan Roberson.

He also had a sure-fire sack of Sean Clifford in his grasp, but as usual, quarterbacks weren’t being hit in this scrimmage.

With King looking like this, it’s not surprise that Marquis Wilson is now playing some offense as well.

Between King, Tariq Castro-Fields, Keaton Ellis, Joey Porter Jr., Daquan Hardy and transfer Johnny Dixon, the cornerback group should be a strength in 2021.
