The Denver Broncos are reportedly shopping former Penn State Football standout DaeSean Hamilton

Penn State Football’s all-time leading wide receiver, and current Denver Broncos starter DaeSean Hamilton could be on the move, according to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Hamilton, 26, was chosen by the Denver Broncos in the fourth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and has caught 81 passes for 833 yards and five touchdowns through the first 46 games of his NFL career.

However, wide receiver has quickly become a position of strength for the Broncos, who also field former Penn State Football standout K.J. Hamler, former second-round pick and 2019 Pro Bowler Courtland Sutton, and 2020 first-round choice Jerry Jeudy.

After finishing 5-11 last season, the Broncos are scheduled to pick No. 9 overall, and could be in position to acquire one of the premier wide receivers in this year’s class such as Alabama’s DeVonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle, or LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase, if the organization believes they can help third-year quarterback Drew Lock take the next step in his development.

Likewise, adding a playmaker on defense, such as Penn State Football’s Micah Parsons could be an option with that selection, as well.

Regardless, given the Broncos’ strength at wide receiver and various holes on the roster that new general manager George Paton still must fill, Hamilton is expendable and could fetch a draft pick in this month’s NFL Draft.

The breadth, depth, and talent of this year’s wide receiver class could make it difficult for the Broncos to move Hamilton, but a team that misses out on the position could look to add a player capable of stretching the field at some point this offseason.

A four-year starter at Penn State, Hamilton caught 214 passes for 2,842 yards and 18 touchdowns, while playing a pivotal role in the Nittany Lions’ Fiesta Bowl winning 2017 campaign.
