Most anticipated battle for the Cy-Hawk trophy ever?

4. Iowa at Iowa State – September 11th 

The Cy-Hawk battle was put on hold last season due to Covid-19, and this year’s version of the rivalry might be the most anticipated ever.

Both teams figure to come into this one nationally ranked inside the top-25 and with aspirations of winning their respective conferences. Last season Iowa State lost the Big 12 championship game to Oklahoma but went on to win the Fiesta Bowl over Oregon.

Iowa will be led by second year quarterback Spencer Petrus and will once again have a dominant offensive line and front seven next season and will be led by their running game behind running back Tyler Goodson.

Cyclone quarterback Brock Purdy against this Iowa defense is the matchup to watch for in this one as Purdy may be one of the first quarterbacks selected in the 2022 NFL Draft.
