Penn State Football: Former three-star recruits who turned into Studs

6. Journey Brown (Running back)

Brown may have ended up higher on this list if a health condition did not force him to retire.

After only getting eight carries for 44 yards in 2018, Brown exploded in 2019, rushing for 890 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Brown broke the Penn State Football bowl rushing record in the 2019 Cotton Bowl, running for 202 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s a shame that his career was cut short, because he no doubt would’ve put up big numbers in 2020 in route to the 2021 draft.

Brown is high on this list because the talent and production was clearly there. It’s just unfortunate that he couldn’t be higher.
