# 58 — Baltimore Ravens select Jayson Oweh (DE, Penn State)

Why it fits:

Oweh impressed during his Pro Day and is quickly becoming a “metric darling”.

Baltimore could be a great fit so he can learn from their already stout defensive side of the ball (like DE’s Calais Campbell and Derek Wolfe).  He could get an opportunity to see the field without having a ton of expectations and carve out a niche role as he adjusts to the NFL game.

After the Ravens lost Yannick Ngagkoue via free agency, Oweh could be an ideal fit. He just might not be there this late in the draft.

Why it doesn’t fit:

It’s well known that Oweh didn’t have a single sack this year.

You know McShay and Kiper are going to mention that about a 1,000 times. Even if Oweh isn’t penned is a day one starter, expectations will be high for any player selected in the first two rounds.  If he can’t make an impact quickly, he could go the way of Aaron Maybin.
