2020 stats – Detroit Lions: 14 receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns

In his second season with the Detroit Lions, James caught his first touchdown passes since 2018, while appearing in all 16 games which included making seven starts.

Chosen by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth-round of the 2015 NFL Draft, James has never caught more than 43 passes or produced more than 425 receiving yards.

However, James is a competent run-blocker, and last season he didn’t drop a single pass and produced 5.6 yards per catch after contact.

If a team is looking for tight end depth, likely on the cheap, James could provide some value in 2021.
