Penn State Football linebacker Micah Parsons did not disappoint during the program’s pro day workout Thursday, after opting out of the 2020 seasons.
In front of representatives from 31 NFL teams, including a pair of head coaches — the NY Giants‘ Joe Judge and Pittsburgh Steelers’ Mike Tomlin — Parsons reinforced his status as one of the most athletically gifted linebackers and defensive prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft class.
Parsons answered the bell in the 40-yard dash, running it in a blazing 4.39 seconds.

In addition to his sub-4.4 40-yard dash, he also produced a 126-inch broad jump and turned the short-shuttle in 6.89 seconds and put up 19 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
"“Micah Parsons is just scratching the surface,” Penn State Football defensive coordinator Brent Pry said on Big Ten Network’s broadcast. “He has a skill-set that can do a lot of things. One of the ways we were going to maximize his rush-ability more so was at the line of scrimmage, from the three-point, from the two-point. His rush-ability is one of his best traits.“He’s so good at so many things, we couldn’t work him in everywhere. He’s the best-rush guy, best coverage guy, and best at the second-level.”"
Parsons testing exceptionally well solidify his status as a top-15 pick, or higher in next month’s NFL Draft.
One NFL executive believes Parsons’ ceiling at the NFL level is higher than Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro Devin White.
“He can be a game-changer,” a long-time NFL personnel executive tells VictoryBellRings, on the condition of anonymity so he could speak freely on Parsons as he still consults for several teams. “Devin White, who I loved coming out of LSU, Micah is a much better prospect than him. Devin was very athletic, very fast, you see it on the NFL level.”
