Penn State Football could have as many as three players chosen in the first-round of next month’s 2021 NFL Draft, so the program’s pro day workout is going to attract its fair share of eyeballs from power brokers inside the NFL.

Since former Nittany Lions All-American linebacker Micah Parsons, edge rusher Jayson Oweh, and tight end Pat Freiermuth all are potential first-round selections, it wouldn’t be surprising to see several general managers and head coaches on hand Thursday for Penn State Football’s pro day workout at Holuba Hall.

Penn State Football fans will have the chance to watch, as well.

Big Ten Network announced plans this week to broadcast the workout from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

Because there will be no NFL Combine this year, how Parsons, Oweh, Freiermuth, offensive lineman Michael Menet, defensive lineman Shaka Toney, defensive back Lamont Wade test in the various on-field drills will be pivotal to their draft stock.

Recently, Oweh ran the 40-yard dash in a blazing 4.38 seconds in a laser-timed run. If he replicates that time at Pro Day, there’s a chance he could vault into a top-15 selection.

Meanwhile, one NFL executive recently told Victory Bell Rings that Parsons has the chance to be a more dominant player than Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ All-Pro Devin White.

“He can be a game-changer,” a long-time NFL personnel executive tells VictoryBellRings, on the condition of anonymity so he could speak freely on Parsons as he still consults for several teams. “Devin White, who I loved coming out of LSU, Micah is a much better prospect than him. Devin was very athletic, very fast, you see it on the NFL level.”
