ATH Aaron Mathews (2016)

Aaron Mathews had one of the shortest commitments we’ve seen at Penn State.

The 3-star received an offer from Penn State in late December of 2015 and committed less than a week later. His commitment only stood for a month though, as he flipped to Pitt two days before signing day.

Penn State was recruiting Mathews as an athlete, while Pitt focused on him purely as a wide receiver, it was one of the deciding factors.

In four years, Mathews caught 44 passes for 580 yards and a touchdown for Pitt. Pitt went 1-3 against Penn State during that time.

Considering some of the receivers Penn State had from 2016-19, such as DaeSean Hamilton, Chris Godwin, KJ Hamler, Juwan Johnson, Saeed Blacknall and Jahan Dotson, Penn State was more than fine during that time.
