K Quinn Nordin (2016)

Quinn Nordin is probably the most talked about kicker recruit in the history of recruiting.

He committed to Penn State Football using a music video that included a private jet, he then de-committed from Penn State after Jim Harbaugh slept over his house.

Nordin was the primary kicker for Michigan from 2017-19. He would take a step back in 2020 though, only attempting five field goals.

For his career he went 119/124 on extra points and 42/58 on field goals. One of those extra point misses came in that 2017 Penn State vs Michigan game. Much to the enjoyment of the sold-out whiteout crowd.

To say that was a rough night for former Penn State commits would be an understatement.

Nordin is currently preparing for the 2021 NFL draft.

Penn State’s kicking was fine without Nordin. Tyler Davis was a perfect 133/133 on extra points from 2016-17 and 22/24 on field goals in 2016. He struggled with field goals in 2017, going only 9/17.

Jake Pinegar has been Penn State’s primary place-kicker from 2018 to present, going 136/141 on extra points and 36/49 on field goals. Penn State also has Jordan Stout for long field goals.

The differences between Nordin and what Penn State ended up with, is minimal.
