Too Early to Judge

Penn State’s 2020 class had seven de-commits.

The most notable of that group being 4-star linebacker Derek Wingo. The others are: Aaryn Parks, Josh Moten, RJ Adams, Grant Toutant, Elijah Gaines and Devin Willock.

The 2021 class only had two de-commits, but both are notable. 4-star wide receive Dont’e Thornton was the first commit in the class, he signed with Oregon. 3-star tight end Nick Elksnis is now with Florida.

The 2022 class already has one de-commit in 4-star tight end Holden Staes. The 2023 class also has one in Mathias Barnwell.

As you can see, so far de-commits haven’t come back to haunt the Nittany Lions. Justin Fields will forever be the one that got away, but outside of him, Penn State fans can sleep well at night, not having to worry about de-commits.
