OL Chris Bleich (2018)

Behind Fields, and Micah Parsons until he re-committed, the most notable de-commit from the 2018 class was probably 3-star offensive lineman Chris Bleich.

Some will say Isheem Young, but we’re not counting him here. He was “removed” from the class.

Bleich committed on April 7, 2016, making him one of the earlier commits of the 2018 class. His commitment lasted over a year, until April 21, 2017.

After that, he was committed to UCLA for a while, before eventually signing with Florida.

Bleich was a solid contributor in his first year of action at Florida. In 2019, he started in eight games at right guard.

It turns out, he played the season with an injury. He didn’t play at the end of the 2019 season because of injury and left the Florida team.

A story by Syracuse.com says that the Florida staff may have neglected his injuries.

He decided to transfer to Syracuse for a fresh start, forcing him to sit out the 2020 season.

Bleich, when healthy, showed to be productive. He would have most likely been in the battle for Penn State’s offensive line openings this year.
