Okay PSU Wrestling fans, catch your breath, calm down because we have two more finals matches to go.

So far it’s been nothing short of spectacular as both Roman Bravo-Young and Nick Lee took home their first NCAA titles at 133 and 141.

Can the redshirt freshman Carter Starocci add to PSU Wrestling’s growing 2021 trophy case at the NCAA Wrestling Championships?

No. 3 Carter Starocci (PSU) vs. No. 1 Michael Kemerer (IOWA)

The first period saw both grapplers trying to feel each other out early. Kemerer took a deep shot on Starocci midway through the 1st but it was well defended and both wrestlers squared up again.

Starocci then got stuck in a bad spot as Kemerer got him stuck in the middle of the mat while on top. A stalemate helped save Carter and the two went back to a restart.

The second period started with Starocci on bottom as he worked to earn the early escape and put the first points on the board (1-0).

Starocci snagged a single leg late in the 2nd period and it appeared he got the takedown, however the officials rules time had expired in the period.

Starocci began the 3rd period on the top position and Kemerer was able to earn the escape 15 seconds into the 3rd period (1-1).

The two then squared up in the center of the mat midway through the 3rd period as each guy was looking for their opportunity.

Kemerer took a deep shot but Starocci was able to defend it well and get back to a neutral position and the 3rd period came to a close with the score tied.

We got to another sudden victory.

AND YET AGAIN, CARTER STAROCCI LED INTO A DOUBLE LEG AND TOOK KEMERER TO THE MAT AND EARNED ANOTHER TITLE FOR PSU!!!

Let’s go!!!!!

Carter Starocci wins in sudden victory (3-1) to take home his 1st NCAA title and Penn State’s 3rd title of the night.

Holy cow, what a freaking night!
